buying advice £1,500-£2,000

hello people,

im looking to buy a road bike after my last one was given to me, im looking to start taking things up a notch and enter races etc..

ive been looking at the following two bikes

Scott CR1 Pro CD 2009 -

im not set on these two bikes, i would appreciate any advice on the above and other bikes you would recommend in this price range.

Beginner myself so would presume to know but i saw one of these, not sure which one it was, a 1 or a 2,but it was at a (very wealthy) customers house and it was just too beautiful for words...

If I were dropping £2k on a Scott I'd say R3 at Epic?

have a look at planet x for that money you can get a dura ace or red built with money left to buy some wheels.

the '09 trek madone 5.2 is down from £2500 to £2000 at evans.

build a shortlist then choose the one that fits! getting something comfy will be more important than similar specs in your price range in my opinion!
