How much if any play should there be between the rear hub and cassette, and I also seem to be getting some noise like something is working loose but only at a certain speed, I've checked everything and can't find anything I'm stumped,
Thanks gillyboc

Is there any play in the freehub body?

If the cassette is mounted on the freehub then yes that's were the play seems to be, If I turn the bike upside down and start the wheel spinning the cassette appears to move from side to side, when I remove the wheel I can rock the cassette from side to side, the cassette locking ring doesn't appear to be loose but I don't have the cassette removal tool to check this,PS the bike is only 4-6 weeks old,
    Thanks gillyboc.

What is the hub? Sounds liek the freehub body needs replacing, or its bearings.

Either way, back to the shop I am afraid.

yes cassettes look to move on the freehubs of some hubs.

    side to side?

is this rotating about the axle or in and out?

With the wheel removed looking at the side of the wheel straight at the cassette you can hold the cassette by the LRG ring with both hands and rock it forward and back, also the free wheel seems very quiet no clicking noises, I don't think I'll be going back to the shop ever again I wasn't very impressed when I bought the bike and said to myself I'd never go back,
