My pump gave in the ghost the other day which is pretty annoying but I never got on too well with it anyway so it's not that bad....

Been looking at new ones, with size/weight obviously a factor as It's the one I take on my rides with me and came across the pretty neat looking crank brothers power pro minipump and wondered if anyone had any experience with them and if they maybe could recommend something better for between £15 and £30 that'll do the job with the least effort possible :)

http://www.stif.co.uk/gear/select_optio ... &store=mtb is a good view of the one i've seen

that new lezyne one is suposed to be very good, its reviewed in the latest MBUK. its like a mini track pump, but the same sise as a normal mini pump, and being lezyne it looks LUSH!

I've got one, had it for a 3 years now. Its never let me down and is nice and small for stuffing in packs. The switch on the top is great for getting higher pressures into tires but i have got a track pump at home to save my arms and some time when i'm not on the trail. It gets a thumbs up from me.

ive got the cheaper plastic version without the gauge. it is very good considering the small size and although they take a few more pumps to get the tyre up, mine is small enough to fit in a sadle bag.

^ same, cant fault it for on the go repairs etc but my track pump at home gets used the most.

I have the same pump. It's perfectly adequate but the two valve type system it has on the top is unnecessary.

Had one of those Crank Bros ones, was fine until I came to use it then it was about as effective as me blowing into the valve, fortunately someone else on the ride had an OK pump. Just buy a Lezyne or Topeak Mountain Morph, assuming your priority is something that works rather than something light and convenient.

I have a Blackburn Mountain Air which is very good value and pretty light to. Never had any problems and it has the adaptor for presta as well as shraeder valve.

  • Interesting thoughts there guys. I do admit that the double valve thing seems a bit weird and maybe unnecessary but it's that sort of thing that will try to make them stand out I guess. I only use schrader and had to borrow my neighbours weary old footpump this morning just to get enough in to ride. Not fun

Mountain Morph for me, very quick to get up to 30+ psi.

  • Would it help if I say I'm going for 40-45psi usually. occasionally upto 50 but since I'm doing a lot on roads it seems to make sense to have good pressure & I feel good riding those on it too.

Mountain Morph has a fold out foot stand and is slightly larger than most others hence it's quick capacity - certainly helpful if you are aiming as high as 45psi!

oooh. looking at the pictures, that's exactly the pump that's just broken on me! Not sure quite how, but whenever I connect it to the tubes, it's not holding on at all and is blowing back at me. A good pump indeed, but dunno if I'd want another one :?
