Hey,
Riding around in the woods near my mates we found some jumps, and needless to say we tried them. Went for a relatively small one that was more like a Quarter pipe than a jump. After went over the jump and it went completely wrong. Foot slipped off the pedal at the top of the lip and bike went over and as I landed, the outer chainring went straight into the back of my leg taking some of it with it. After wrapping it up in a buff and some electrical tape found in my bag I cycled off to the hospital with my mate.
Got to the hospital, and they wouldn't see me because I need a parent or guardian with me. :x
So we left after short argument and rode off to the train station to get home.

Got home and went to the hospital, now have 5 stitches in my leg
Bit embarrassing, especially as it was the same nurse who treated me last time I had to go to hospital for a bike injury.

And this is my "Buff Bandage" made with electrical tape and a Buff

Sorry about the long message but is there also any protection that protects the back of the leg, I haven't really seen any around.

Another good argument for replacing the big ring with a bash!

What the hell surely the hospital should treat injured people no matter what age they are??

ooooh nasty, as a fan of flats a pair of 661 veggie shin wraps are well worth the effort and might have taken some of the sting out of it. Also isn't there a bash guard you can fit with all three rings?

Why are MTB economics; spend twice as much as you intended, but only half as much as you wish you could afford?

That's what I cannae believe?!? Surely if you've got hair on your legs your old enough to get medical treatment without your parents/guardian?

I recently put a nice big gash on my shin and they were reluctant to send a paramedic round to look at it (I'd gone to a pub nearby on the way back to my house because I was getting dizzy :? ) and even when he did come out he wouldn't give me a lift to hospital to get it cleaned up and patched up
My other ride is your sister!

POC Bones leg armour has a detachable pad that protects the back of the legs.

    Thanks guys,
Yeah apparently 14 is too young to have medical assistance without parent or guardian... :?

I had a bash guard/trouser guard thing but ironically the bolt holding it on came out never to be seen again and you cant get spares

There is, i beleve made by Blackspire, but it will reduce ground clearance even further. If you are doing things like jumps etc a replacing the big ring with a bash is an excelent idea, as well as getting a 36/38 toth middle ring.
