Does this look normal?? Cant say I've noticed it before, but was giving the bike a clean and noticed that BB looked like it was winding out. But on further inspection, there a no threads, and there is no play in the crank.

I'd take the crank off and retorque the BB. Just to be sure.0

Might be worth an investment! Crank extractor and shimano bottom bracket tool will be needed, should be able to pick up both for less than 15 quid.0

will a shimano tool work on Truavativ BB?? :?2014 Whyte T-129S0

Yep, the same splined fitting.
You need a tool of course to remove the crank bolts, usually an 8mm allen key.
Crank extractors come in two flavours, but the newer ones fit all cartridge bottom brackets ie hollow axle ISIS and Octalink jobbies.0 -
if it is fine leave it.
what are the cranks?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Depends if it has unscrewed. Rare, but I have seen it before, especially if not tight to start.0

The cranks are Truvativ FiveD. I called into my LBS while out on a ride yesterday and they also said its fine. Basically the BB is slighly wider than the frame, hence the step. Or summat like that
cheers for the reassurance 8)2014 Whyte T-129S0
