Suspension Question

Would it be possible to uprate the suspension on my Dawg?
to the extent of converting it to a much stronger DH rig? I know the frame is strong enough, but would it allow for use of longer travel (170mm) dual crown forks?
i.e. Run it with some 66s, 888s or boxers then put a DHX air shock on the rear, would it work or is that just a stupid idea?

Not the best idea. Rear sus works within a very narrow band of shock lengths for the best function - otherwise you can run into clearance and geometry probs.
The front end may not be strong enough for forks that big.0 -
How would I go about finding the length of my rear shock? Its an RP23 2008 model.0

Measure it! Eye to eye and shock shaft length. But you cannot change these. You may be able to get longer travel linkage plates from BETD.0

dont do it Konas have big issues with tyres hitting seat tubes/posts.
if you want more of a DH bike then get saving."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."
