First Bike for a long time.......

OK - I have taken the plunge and ordered Merlin Malt 1 which should be with me next week. I chose this as a good starter bike mainly on the reviews it gains. I ordered a 17" model as I am 5' 11" with a 31" inside leg and I figured the smaller bike than I initially though of buying would allow me to do more on it when my friends hit the woods.
I have also ordered a set of DMR v12 pedals as I don't fancy clips yet.

To be honest my interest in cycling has been rekindled after speaking to friends and the fact I live on the doorstep of Swinley Forest, I am a keen runner and kickboxer so fitness is not my key goal, I am looking forward to exploring around my home without relying on a car too!

Its addictive this bug, I know I will notice a huge difference since my last MTB which was a steel Scott rigid fork many moons back!

I am already looking for a commuter bike too so watch this space!

So what do you think guys, Malt 1 a good bet??

It is a highly regarded bikes, and has done well in reviews in WMB.

That was one of the reasons I plumped for it in the end, I have specce'd it as a standard build and all bar the pedals its just a plain Malt 1. More than enough to get me into MTB again I hope.

Does anyone have any Malt 1 pics??
