Have I made an error in fixed gear conversion?

I have just bought some second hand wheels for a bike i want to convert to fixed gear. Thing is the rear is 110mm spacing, the bike is 130mm, is this a problem, can it be resolved? Also they have continental giro tubular tyres, is this any good for getting around the city??

    You can buy spacers and a longer axle from velosolo IIRC to take the 110? to 130.
    I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
