any old wheels for a charity walk?
Hi all,
I'm organising a fundraising walk for the Scouts I'm involved in to raise money for a new building at our campsite.
Basically we're recreating the original campers of 1921 who walked from the centre of Edinburgh to our permanent campsite about 26 miles away. We'll have about 20 boys going the whole way and we'll pick up the younger sections en route as we go - finishing with about 70 for the last couple of miles.
We have the handle from the original cart and we're going to be building something that looks like that (but as light as we can make it!). For rolling resistance I thought bike wheels would be a good idea.
Does anyone have any rough ones lying around that we could have/borrow? Ideally they would be front wheels and have nuts rather than qrs - so we could put them on threaded rod. Doesn't matter if they're 700c or 26" - and I have old tyres so suit both so they're not necessary.
Would be much appreciated and we'd be happy to pay any postage costs or come and get them if you're nearby.

I'm left handed, if that matters.

I've not got anything myself but if you're in Edinburgh head to The Bike Station just off Causewayside, I'm sure they'll have a few wheels knocking about and would be more than happy to help.0
