Commuting Route - Oval to Thamesmead

Hello,

I've had a quite gander in the "Routes" section, but can't find anything that covers my commute.

My route is Oval to Thamesmead - I'm using cycle paths from Greenwich onwards, but am looking for any advice as to the route from Oval to Greenwich. Basically, I'm sick of risking life and limb heading through Camberwell/Peckham/New Cross/Deptford everyday.

Any advice on an alternative route?

You have my sympathy. There's no obvious alternative though. I actually prefer to cycle to New Cross on the Old Kent Road rather than through Camberwell and Peckham, but there probably isn;t much in it.

another alternativ is to head up to the river at Vauxhall and follow the river path as much as possible on the south bank, along Lambeth Palace Road, York Road, getting onto the Thames path along there somewhere, past Waterloo Bridge, and then back onto the road behind the NFT - onto Southwark Street, Tooley Street, Jamaica Road and keep on to Deptford - and join the Thames path just before Greenwich.

It's long winded i know but - its the only alternative i can think of.
