Kenesis Crosslight 3T, Any Good?

I have been offered one of the above by a chap I met. Its built up with a Kenesis carbon fork and a basic groupset off a Claud Butler bike. It has straight bars and and twist grip changers, gearing is a triple on the front and a 6 speed freewheel on the back, all cheap basic stuff. Wheels are fairly heavy no brands with big balloon tyres. He is also throwing in some race tyres, some 7 speed Shimano trigger shifters and some alternative straight bars. Everything is in perfect nick and nicely looked after( his shed is full of nice kit and tools, a real bikers heaven). All this is on offer for £100 as he took a shine to my 12yo son who was bravely battling away on his knackered MTB yesterday morning. The bikes a bit big for him at the moment(at the rate he's growing it'll only be a couple of months before he's big enough!) but what do you guys think? a good bike/buy for a first serious bike?

For a hundred quid seems a bargain, never heard of the bike though and can only find Crosslight 4t online (which retails over 200 quid just for frame!), sorry..............winter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

Go for it! It's a good frame on which to base a gradual upgrade program. You'll have heard it all before, but start by getting some decent wheels which will allow you to evolve from screw-on freewheel to a splined freehub / cassette.0

Went and bought it, figured for a ton I can't go wrong, if my son doesn't ride it I can use it as a hack. Been out for a little ride on it and apart from heavy tyres( which I'm changing anyway its a good ride. The frame is lively and responsive and the carbon forks are excellent. I figure that £100 for the F&F's alone would have been fair. Will post some pic's once its all cleaned up and presentable.Norfolk, who nicked all the hills?

Looks even more of a bargain in the flesh. My Racelight Tk cost over 10 times what you paid. You should be smugness personified!0
