I am off to see family at the end of next month for a few days in Crossgates, just up the road from Llandrindod Wells and I was hoping to fit in a couple of rides whilst there.
I have been there before but I haven’t taken a bike previously, so I was hoping someone might be able to recommend any decent roads with some nice climbing in the area?
Cheers :D

Not that I'm an expert on the area, but I often have to drive through there. and take a few short cuts.

There's a road that turns off the main road from Llandrindod Wells to Newtown at Llanbadarn Fynydd. It's a country lane, but once you go on it for a while, it opens up to climb up to a common- lovely on a nice day and i passed a pair of cyclists there the other day. Then, at the end of that road, turn right for Knighton and you'll come to a fast descent with a couple of hairpins.

This may be some help to you and you may be able to work them in to some route. They are very quiet roads in my experience.
