Genesis Core 20 Brakes Help

I've had my Core 20 for about a month now, and after initial reservations I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.
However whilst out last night my brakes all but packed up (Shimano M575). The front brake completely, the lever can be pulled all the way to the bar and nothing happens. The back brake isn't as bad but is not a responsive as I would like.
I estimate I've probably done about 70-80 miles in the month I have owned the bike, any suggestions as to what the problem may be. It's due to go back for a 1 month service any time.
Completely new to Hydraulic brakes so don't even know where to start!!!

Sounds like a leak at the front - one for the shop to look at. Though try pumping the brake lever a few times in succession incase the fluid has migrated into the reservoir from the bike been stored upside down.0

My mate has this very same bike, and he too has experienced problems with the rear brake.
He took it back to Evans and they sorted it.
I've been informed by a bike shop owner / talented spanner twirler that the new shimano 575 brakes have an issues with castings in the caliper that can result in air locks developing = no brake!
Take it back to the shop.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Think I need to get it back for it's 1 month service.0
