I have been browsing around, looking for some bargain bucket pro jerseys, when i came across something too good to be true or is it??
Quite a few ebay sellers have brand new pro gear i.e Full rock racing kit for £55 inc p&p!
Has anyone any experience of these listings?is it a scam? cheers

Cheap knock offs from Asia.
There are plenty of sellers even in the UK with dodgy replicas, such as bikestuffandentertainment. Some are very clever not to mention that they are replicas.
Unless the seller states in their listing "made by Santini" or similar, I would always ask the seller to confirm whether their kit is genuine before bidding. That way you have a valid case for refund via Ebay if you receive a nasty replica.
I have over 1400 feedback (100%), mainly from selling genuine team kit, and I ALWAYS put the manafacturer and country of manafacture on all my listings.0 -
There seems to be plenty of "cheap kit" on ebay from Hong Kong. Although it doesn't say they are replicas you can bet they will be. Especially as they are so cheap. Here's a box,a musical box. Wound up and ready to play.

Polaris sell their old stock direct on ebay too at much cheapness.
Check out the user 0utdoors_man but make sure you use a zero and not an O
Very fast delivery and cheap combined postage... I am "woman at Polaris" now when I'm out and about...0 -
I work on the basis that everything "new" sold on ebay is counterfeit unless there is evidence to the contrary. Old stock? Clearance? Believe it if you want to, but a healthy cynicism is beneficial.
The exception to this is the ebay shops that some real retailers have to clear stock. SJS are an example - I just bought an unboxed new Brooks B17 from their ebay front end for 29 quid.0 -

For information;
Genuine cycling kit is as expensive here, if not more so, than the UK. If you shop in the bona fide shops it's the real deal. I've never seen anywhere selling cheap/fake cycling kit on the streets, so it's probably all going on Ebay.

Really?
They're very professional then? And the quality of the 'fakes' are amazing!
They've even stolen Polaris email addresses for correspondence, their bank account, headed paper and a bunch of Polaris 2009 catalogues to enclose with the orders.
You wouldn't think they'd have gone to all that trouble for such a small margin... :roll:0 -
Joycie,
I'm not saying Polaris stuff is fake - I'm merely pointing out that genuine kit is no cheaper here than in the UK. If there is merchandise for sale by Polaris through ebay that says it is made in HK or from HK, I have no reason to doubt it's authenticity. However, I would suggest that people buy from rcognised, reliable sources - HK is not a source of bona fide cheap cycling kit.
