anyone suggest a good crank/gear setup for a freeride bike ?
i want twin ring up front so i can climb aswell as descend dont really want to spend a fortune but something thats not going to break on the first outting would be good

also what rings/cassette would be best to give me the best compromise for climbing and descending.

will be on a ns surge frame with rockshox domain forks

    Shimano do the SLX chainset with two chainrings and a bashguard.

    An 11-32 or 11-34 cassette would give the best compromise. Chainset comes with 22-36 chainrings, which again is a good compromise, although a bigger inner chainring would be more helpful.

    thanks, can i change the inner chaninring on the slx ?
