Way to maintain the momentum generated by the Tour... ignore the first major race that follows it!

One of the few races I've actually managed to watch from the roadside as well, on the Jaizkibel back in 2006, so I was particularly keen to catch it.

There will be plenty of links on the day to live feeds. Not as good as live on the tv but better than nothing.

get a cheap flight to Bayonne, drive down (less than an hour) spend the day watching the race at roadside / one of the bars in the square, foolowed by live music and some of the best seafood in Europe for dinner. sleap rough / cheap hotel fly back next day. BARGAIN.

We can be part of these races for not a lot of money :):)

Just looked at schedule and they have live polo on instead. I might tune in just to hear Carlton Kirby do the commentary... he's bound to have some horse related anecdote tucked up his sleeve just in case he was ever asked to commentate on polo. Now's his chance!

If my memory serves me correctly, they are showing the ever (un)exciting Tour of Poland on Eurosport next week...

I watched the tour of Poland last year (I think) and much as it was interesting to see the place, you're right, very little happened. I also seem to remember that my sky plus would invariably end before the program, or the program would cut before the end of the race. In that respect, a highlights program would be great.
Still, I seem to remember the tour of Qaatar was also somewhat dull. Was it the tour of Qattar, or the tour down under? They all tend to blur into one when they're not in the big three (four if you include the tour of California, which I like because it seems very exotic).

Does anyone have any confirmation if Contador is riding this race or not? His name seems to be on the start list....

Why? Is he making a come-back too?
