Just got word from my LBS that the new Bianchi Infinito (with Athena groupset) has a rrp of £2450 (price released from Cycleurope last week)

How exactly this is a direct replacement for the £1600 928 C2C I am not sure but I know I cannot afford it at that pricepoint.

I wonder how many others were hoping for a comparable price to the 928 C2C?

Stock available in August in limited numbers if you are still interested

I wonder if they'll do one with another groupset on to fill the cheaper end.

I'm not sure I really want an 11spd, guppo anyway surely they'll do a Centaur version? Maybe they'll do a 105 version?

I like the look of that Infinito, I dont like the sound of that price tag. Tho I'm sure it'll get discounted and before long and we'll see it closer to the 2k mark.

the price hike doesn't surprise me - look at the way things have increased in price over the past 12months or so!
in March 2008 I bought a campag carbon centaur groupset - the whole groupset - for £380 - I bought a set of Eurus wheels for £360 - check out how much these are now!

    (£714 and £700 respectively btw:)

  • Is the Infinito really the replacement to the mid-range 928 C2C though? Or does it fit in or replace models higher up the range, i.e. the HoC 928 SL?
