What low-impact excersise ?

I haven't been excercising now for probably a month and a half due to my current neck injury (herniated discs).
I keep having visions of getting fit again, re-joined the gym, thought about a turbo trainer, but in reality I think I am trying to throw money at it, for I have only been to the gym once since I re-joined in May (recumbant bike and walking on treadmill).
I have tried to eat healthily during this phase, although I have recently lost the will and have put on between 0.5 - 1kg, and my body fat has crept back up.
This is obviously not good, and I need to find something I can do!
I sold my motorbike in January this year due to not using it because of this injury, and the lack of use of my mountain bike is really getting to me.
Cycling at the mo is a no go - neck hurts within a mile of leaving the house, and gets me very cross.
I have tried walking, but I just find it very boring compared to cycling.
Swimming is no good as I find front crawl tires me very quickly, and breast stroke holds my head exactly where it shouldnt be.
Any suggestions? Or do I just accept fatness

Interesting idea, although I would be worried of jarring on landing....0

Cross trainer would be ideal in this situation. The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

Good call Dazzza - didnt think of using them, and they have plenty at the gym.
Next thing is to try and get motivated - I am t.a.t.t. from the pain killers I seem to be permanently on, but maybe a new piece of gym equipment might give me the boost I need.0
