Hello all,

This is my first post, so im pleased to meet you all.

My question is, i have a 2008 Kona Blast Deluxe, which I have upgraded the forks on.
But the bottom bracket as now given up on me! So I am thinking of changing the whole chainset to shimano.

Can someone please tell me if the Deore is a better spec than the FSA Alpha Drive Exo Powerdrive that is currently on?

Also due to the low price of the slx (£50 more) is it worth spending that extra or is a slx overkill for my bike?

Thank you in advance

Ash

The Deore crankset is a great piece of kit for the money, get the HTII BB version for ease of maintenance etc...

i would say it's a better bit of kit than what you currently have, the SLX is a great chainset, a little lighter and it's down to you if you want to/can justify the extra expenditure.

I think the Deore is a great choice for a great price!

    thanks for the advice Cheesey.

I'll probably go with the hollowtec deore as suggested.

    Thanks again
