Just a quick poll of people this height what size frame do you have. have been on a 56 and 58 not really experienced enough to tell the difference or what oi should be looking for. just looking for some extra guidance on top of LBS owners.

Cheers

I'm 179cm and ride a 56cm Specialised Tricross single. Different manufacturers can have slightly differing frame sizes for the same frame size.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

For me it is easy as I am 6' 6" so it is always the largest one :)

At 5'10/5'11 you might be looking at a 54-56 frame - lots of variability between manufacturers etc so treat with caution. A 58 would typically be too big for a 5'10 bloke though.

    +1.
Reckon that 58 is probably too big.
    I am 5' 10.25" and ride a 56 Specialised Allez and a M (54?) Giant TCR.

    Ive had:
    54 steel frame
    56 Bianchi
    L Kuota Ksano
    58 Canyon
    XL Kuota Kredo
All of these were set up with 75cm saddle middle to c BB (74.5cm early season), which is (of course) a more important measure. Point is TT lenghts were all pretty much the same, and with differening HT´s the seat tube length can often be variable, depending on how much seat post you like sticking out.
    Try before you buy!

I'm 5' 10" and I ride a 56 but could ride a 54. You definitely don't want a 58. A Specialized Allez 54 gives me the same reach as a Cervelo 56 with the same stem, so taking into account the different geometries is very important. Many frames now have taller headtubes for a more comfy position if you aren't that flexible.

same height - longish legs (79.5cm saddle to centre bb) med loom (54.5cm eff tt) and same in cervelo. ride with a big drop though but prefer the reach

Well went for the 56cm frame in the end plenty of movement in bars and seat left and i felt at home it. Tried a 57cm Bianchi hydro carbon, too racy setup for me andwast comfy at all. Mind you the ride did seem smoother.
Will get some pics up tommorrow some time.

    Cheers for the advice

  • I have a trek 1.5, 56cm and I'm 5ft 10. I tried the 54 which felt to small for me and a 58 would've been to tall for me to stand up off the pedals without talking a few octaves higher. But the 56 was just right :D
Bianchi. There are no alternatives only compromises!

I'm 176cm, and used to ride a 56cm which I found fine, but a little bit too big. I think a 54cm is the better size for my (and your!) height.

    So i'd say 54.

The poster isn't your height, he's taller. He is 179 cm.

Well, I'm between 5'10" and 5'11" and ride a M Giant Defy, which is a 54.5cm virtual top-tube. Fit is spot on for me but the guy in the shop who did the fitting reckoned that, from my height, I would either be M or M/L (56.0cm) so he tried me on both and the M worked for my build.
