Well I DID it.

Yes it was on a "slight" downhill section and yes he he passed me going up a hill BUT I passed a scooter at 31 mph and made it stick for a little over a mile, 22 stone man on a hybrid 1 scooter 0

What a way to end a wet, windy and wintry week of commuting.

Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe out there.

My proudest moment is keeping pace with a scooter along the 4 mile undulating road from Cannock to my friend's house. He kept looking back to see if I'd gone yet, and getting quite annoyed when I wasn't...

My proudest moment was being bollocked by a policeman for doing 52 in a 30  My funniest was overtaking two of those 'motorbikes' that look like pushbikes with an engine bolted on the bottom (kind of like an old style ladies bike if you know what I mean)

They'd been very slowly catching me on the last leg of my 50 mile circuit and crawled past on this hill on the outskirts of Stafford... Well I was only a few miles from home and wasn't in fear of a coronary so I stood on the pedals and went straight past the pair of them, on the outside without even looking at them

They never saw me again and I died a little death further down on the A34

(all this was when I was uber fit back in my 20s. I'll never see the like again..)

gb155, I fear the day you reach your target weight. You posess some mighty thunder to accelerate 22 stone to 30mph, imagine what it will be like when you've 9 or 10 stone less to lug about.

That's, like, a whole person less
Today is a good day to ride

you mean like ANOTHER whole person less :D:D:D , I love the fact that I can sit nice and relaxed at 20mph on the flat and believe its all down to the muscles I built when I was riding at 32 stone, Now I am getting the rewards from that and lovin every single second, Hill still cause me much HELL but maybe this time next year if I loose that "other person" then I might even be able to carry some of that speed uphill, I have just started to stand and sprint my pretty much every hill I hit (though not all the way on most) so fingers crossed :D:D

p.s my mex speed yesterday was a non too shabby 37.7 MPH, Still need to pass my 40.6MPH PB though
