How do I repair scratched clear coat and paintwork?

Hi,

My bike has a scratch on the frame that goes through the clear coat and to the paintwork. It is under the top tube, so I am not that worried about touching it up. I am more keen to repair the clear lacquer to prevent further damage in months and years to come.

Will some car wax do? Do I need some car lacquer from Halfords?

Would appreciate any advice.

Thanks.

If it's just the lacquer that's scratched, clear nail varnish will do the job.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos
