Went into Tesco when I was up in Newcastle a few weeks ago and I saw they were selling track pumps (just had loads of them loose in a box on the shelf) for £9.99

Anyone brought one of these? Any good?

i've not got one - but is looks amazingly like the blackburn track pump I have that cost £24!!

and I mean - amazingly like it!

My brother in law has one and seems to rate it as much as you could rate any pump - i.e. it keeps his tyres at 100+psi - can't go wrong at a tenner can you?

It's a pump... how wrong can a pump be?

Splash that hardly earned tenner with no regrets...

  • I'm off to Tesco at lunchtime in Camberley then to try and find one.

Offcourse it would be nice to have a branded pump that costs between £25 - £40 but a pump is a pump at the end of the day.

I looked at the Bell track pumps in Asda Walmart last saturday and alsmot made off with one that was £15. Looked decent enough.

  • Purchased 1 last year at a bargain price. It pumps!, has dual fitting head, so nice and easy connection to presta and schrader valves and it has a pressure gauge. Shaft has gone a little rusty though. Davy
  • If I manage to pick one up today I might lube the shaft to give a bit of protection.

check to see if it will pump up to the pressure you need! some cheap pumps will not.I got a joe blow from tredz it was only £30 that was £10 cheaper than most places.

Got one last year and its been great. 18 strokes to 100psi, 120 psi no problem. No rust on mine(mind you I keep it in the car) What more could I ask of it.

Wilkinson's do a track pump for under a tenner, I've had one for about 4 years and I can get 110psi easy.

maybe i got a duffer - but a few years ago my first attempt at getting a cheap track pump was a £12 argos one - it was absolute crap! - it took ages and couldn't get my tires above about 80 psi - took it straight back it was worse than useless!

That was when I bought the blackburn - and I swear this tesco one is the same with a different logo.
