OK I have 99% pulled the trigger on a Langster. Anybody got any feedback on these. Want to use it for a winter trainer/fun bike

love mine - although I was trying to sell it a short while back (it makes more sense in town than country and I have moved house recently!)

light, fast, cheap(ish), easy to maintain and a great training aid.

Std tyres are crap and cut easy is my only real criticism.

Londoners on here will tell you they are common and ridden by idiots but i've never seen another on the road up here in the sticks!

    go for it

    A wrongster!

Pleny of better/alternate bike for the money.

    I own a 07 Langster.

I would not buy another one now as since they came out there has been an influx of these type of bikes.

I have an 08 Langster and it is ideal for winter training/commuting as it turns the rolling countryside of Warwickshire into the Alps! The fixed hub is also good for improving pedal technique. While it is true that there are other singlespeed/fixies around this one does its job just fine, tyres are crap but they are easily changed.
If you don't live in London then you can own one of these without being arrested by the fashion police.

I have an 2008 Langster, if you want a good value for money single speed bike, you cant go wrong. I do agrees with the comments about the tyres though, they do cut easily and I have changed to Conti's. There is also a mismatch in the transmission, the chain and chainring are 1/8 and the rear cogs are 3/32. I changed the fixed cog cog to a Surly 1/8 with a noticable improvement in the driveline.
