Arrived in the post this morning, I was like a little boy at Christmas again haha.
Poster was added in as a gift, but the top was what I was after. One 2009 Steve Peat signed Race Top. Already this year re wrote the records hopefully it will continue to get better

So heres the big question - wear it or frame it?0
-
Frame it!!!!!
Id so get my head bashed in if I was riding around fully suited in that on the trails then I took my helmet off haha.
But getting framed, have a signed and dated sig verification on it's way so that will be used to get the COA. Then sealed and framed and on my wall.0 -
Cool, how much it cost you? You know sam hills sweet yellow and pink look went for a fortune on ebay.

143 of the tax payers finest English pounds, I was well surprised it went for that cheap my max bid I'd put in before I went to work was a lot more like.
Will take pride of place above the door now
Haha that top was so horrible it became cool, I'd totally wear it on the trails.0 -
Sweet. Better hope he loses next year or dies or something, would make that top worth a fortune.0
-
How could you say that. lol
I had it values its already worth considerably more than I paid for it, on the fact alone he is the most successful rider in the history of the sport. Whatever happens that fact alone will make the top valuable enough, if he was wo win the Cup or the worlds this year then it would be like wow.
All irrelevant really it's staying with me forever!!!!! (Or untill I can buy a new car with it lol )0 -
I can't believe you paid £143 for a jersey, granted it's got Peatys sig on there, but come on £143 :shock:0
-
First up because I wanted to.
Secondly it was for charity, I always donate to the Wharncliffe weekender every year the sum of around 150GBP
Thirdly I don't think it's that much for what it was, I had a bid in for a lot more than that.
Fourthly the tax payer paid for it =D
I think your just jealous
At the end of the day it's a piece of history it will be on the wall and will always bring back memory's of the 09 season when Peaty hit up the big 17, and I ended up loosing almost two nights of my memory haha
Who knows if he wins the Worlds or the Cup this year that will be one of the most sort after tops in years to come that you can be assure of.0 -
At the Malvern Classic in '97 I told Steve Peat to "f*** off!" when he walked past and asked for one of my beers whilst we all watched the trials comp on the final night.
I laughed. He laughed. The crowd laughed.
About five minutes later I felt like a total git, though, and wished I'd just given him one of my cans of Fosters because it was Steve frickin' Peat and he was great.
I apologised to him at my earliest opportunity, which unfortunately was Bike 2000 some three years later. He did not remember, but seemed to genuinely appreciate the apology.
The man's a legend!0 -

No I'm not an MP, in the military though hence taxpayers money paid for it lol, having said that I pay tax so in a roundabout way I paid for it being paid for lol.0
