I'm goign to be working in Melton Mowbray/Old Dalby area for about 3 weeks from the middle of next week to 19th August.

Are there any mid-week group rides out and about.

If not what else is there to ride in the area, I know of Rutland water abot 17 miles away and that's a fair old loop, need to get some regular miles in as I'm doing the Ruthin Merida in September.

Any ideas would be great

There is a regular Wednesday evening ride which leaves Rutland Cycling at Whitwell at 6.30pm, they do the whole loop 16 miles + the peninsular making about 23 miles in total. Don't expect anything challenging in the way of terrain but it certainly will get the miles in for you and they are a friendly mixed bunch group of riders.

    Pork pies?

    Coat on and I'm off...
  • There's a route on www.mountianbikerides.co.uk around Burrough Hill which is south of Melton which starts in Melton - although I've not tried it myself......
