going to upgrade the chainset on my scale 70 and put the currant one on my singlespeed.
currantly it's got an XT rear mech and was wondering what the benefits are of the XT over the SLX?
And if the XT is only £20 more should i just get the XT?

It is lighter by about 40g, and has a stiffer outer ring. But that is about it.0

So bang for buck slx is the choice?{insert smartarse comment here}0

Just to upset the bang for your buck equation, check out the XT chainset on www.bike-components.de. Pretty much the same as SLX here. Or you can get the SLX even cheaper. Don't forget to allow 10 euro for shipping.0

Just fitted the SLX mech, bit of a faff to set up, but very solid feeling piece of kit.Pictures are better than words because some words are big and hard to understand.

I had the same dilemma and went for the SLX. It has NOTHING to do with the fact that the colour matched my bike better... :oops:0

Last years spec maybe, but still a great price for an XT chainset. Cant be much different to the 2010 model.0

Bit like those XT pedals you mean...0 -
Well the m7*1 models are aimed at touring use and normally have larger ratios and come with a plastic guard on the outside0
