Bike Storage

Living in a first floor flat I don't have a lot of room to store my bike.

I'm considering hanging it from the wall in our store room by the back wheel.

What I want to know is would doing this cause any damage to my bike, having all the weight hanging from a hook round the rim?

    no probs.

    by the front is easier.

I was thinking of removing the front wheel, so it sits more flush to the wall. There's not a lot of room you see

Cant see a problem with it - its how they hang your bike on the ski lifts in France (either front or rear).

Have you considered hoiking it up to the ceiling then hooking wheels to wall to kind of make an angle in the corner/end of the room? Gets it off the floor and out the way with minimal possibility of getting hooked on clothes and so on. Can either get a hoist thing to get it ot hte ceiling or lift it - just make sure hooks are in a joist.

    I have a simalar issue.

I live in a small 2 bedroom terrace (town house) which has no basement and not enough space out back for a shed; and all the rooms are pretty small.

I own 3 bikes and at the mo I have 2 in the front room and 1 in the kitchen :( and as you can imagine, it's a pain (especially after riding in the mud).

Keep racking my brain as to how I can store them and still be able to use the room as it was intended but I cant come up with a good plan.
