Nice story, just a little bit of a hollow victory me thinks. She smashes her car and her bike in one go, and if I read it right the thief got away still. :x

What's the odds that if I, not being a mayor of anywhere, chased down a bike thief in a car, mounted the pavement and rammed him, that I'd be getting a visit from plod to discuss a charge of dangerous driving, assault with a deadly weapon, attempted murder or something similar?

Yeah, that is rather what I thought, I have to say. Irrespective of the Mayor bit.

If I was the thief, I'd be suing for the above and for injuries sustained.

As me, I don't like that the system allows that. "She has no right to run me over!" he'd cry. "You gave up the rights afforded to you by this society the moment you decided to live outside it's rules and nick people's bikes", I'd reply.

But it's not like that, is it?

    *sigh*

    I know it's not as black-and-white as that, I don't have a solution.

    Out of order?

Is it Fcuk. The scrote deserved it. As has been said, he (IMHO) gave up any rights the minute he decided to thieve the bike.

I'm just sorry she bashed her car and bike.

I hope they catch the tw@t and cut a hand off.

    Wishful thinking.......

The thread title was a bit tongue in cheek.

In her account she claims to have blocked his path and he ran into her. F..k him. He stole a bike and then rode it on the pavement.

Take this as a warning, underestimate a female on a hybrid/ town bike at your peril

Also I don't read the Daily Mail either, it was the only link I could find to the story I heard on Five Live.

"reasonable force" would apply here I suspect, good on her, even if car and bike were damaged the theiving git didn't prosper, and no doubt will think twice next time.
