I have posted this thread to hopefully make public the efforts of two of my work colleagues.
Angela and Jill have riden off-road from John O'Groats to lands End. They managed this without the aid of a back-up vehicle, carrying all they needed in panniers. they funded the trip themselves.
The full distance covered was 1143 miles with a total elevation of 33,886 metres. To put this in context Everest is 8,850 metres.
Their efforts were to raise money for the McMillan Cancer Charity, Angela lost her mum to the disease and it is obviously close to her heart after all the help she received.
Please take time to read their blog at the following site and if you have some money to spare please could you donate. I have told the girls about the link from this site as another way of getting them to the sponsorship target they set themselves.
www.justgiving.com then search for ANGELA BURT in the box marked FRIENDS. OR
www.justgiving.com/offroadjoglechallenge
I hope you enjoy reading about the trip. My 30 to 40 miles on the weekend now seem pointless.
Cheers
Jas
