Hey:D
After debating for a while about what new forks I should fit to my 4 year old giant nrs 3 , I think i will put on some "Rock Shox Reba SL 100 Black 2009 With Poplock" forks I have crossed with originally thinking I can fit them myself to now thinking maybe i should let the pros do it, I was wondering weather this is compatible for my bike and weather its a good choice for my bike . Also has anyone got their local bike shop to do a job like this and roughly how much it cost ?

Thanks allot for any help given :D

I normally have all my forks fitted by LBS.....

Look to pay around £20 (maybe a little more or a little less)

Think my guy did it for around £20, but when I had a place in Ramsgate, the LBS there charged £15........

It's not a big job by any means with the right tools, its just cutting the steerer, fitting crown race and star nut.... 15/20 mins work

I removed my old forks and sent them in to the LHS with the new forks to get the tube cut to the right length, it cost me £9 for the tube cutting service
I then fitted the forks myself as I was wos doing quite a bit of workon the bike and didn't want to haul the entire bike into the shop

    +1

The bearing race can sometimes need a little persuasion but it's not difficult. If you're at all unsure about the steerer tube you can always leave it a little longer and adjust the stem postion with some spacers. Or simply measure twice, cut once.

Satisfaction of a job well done etc etc

Quality. Whatever will they think of next? Hex key fitment service? Tyre re-inflation and adjustment schedule?

i have fitted a few pair of forks my self it aint hard,, but like anything if you got the RIGHT TOOLS FOR THE JOB a decent hack saw and most important a saw guide so you cut it straight....

the last 2 pair of forks i got though were fitted by the shop (i was on hol and had no tools to do the job) so had the shop fit them they fitted them free of charge, just ask if your purchasing forks off of them then will they fit them free if not then try another shop.. someone will....
