Well, after being in talks with Madison for the past few weeks i've had to buy 2 Saint levers, brake hose and oil for £112.

Originally started as £45 for 1 lever and £3 for oil.

Urgh, Scotland better be as good as it was last year

    That's a HELL of a price increase..!!

I take it you have to buy the levers in pairs, which are obviously EXPENSIVE! (Is it not cheaper to buy a new lever assembly?) And just ordinary DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 brake / clutch fluid. MTB specific is a ROYAL rip-off...

lol, NOTHING!! (hense the being bent over hehehe).

Basically, shimano have stopped shipping single lever units to the UK. So i've had to buy a lever set :(

CRC only have a single left hand lever in stock, and Madison have none.

For an extra £20 I could have bought a whole new front Saint brake....

But I figured that after snaping 1 lever, i'd rather have a spare lever + be able to bleed both my brakes than another caliper :(

Oh, my bad! But still, you can get mineral oil, in vast amounts, at tiny prices compared to MTB specific mineral oil! My argument still stands, just read 'Mineral oil' over 'DOT 4 / DOT 5.1.

    :lol::lol::lol:

    Nah, the set includes..
    RH lever
    LH lever
    Brake hose x2
    Mineral oil.

All i need is 1 RH lever + mineral oil.

    Bloody ridiculous!

1 lever was £45... but they stop selling them in the UK. I ordered one from CRC but it turned out their website was wrong and they didn't actually have any.

So i've had to buy the above ^ lever "kit" instead.

Did you need the complete lever assembly, or just the lever blade..?

I assumed (yeah, ass-out-of-you-and-me, blah blah  ) that you just snapped the lever blade, see..?

  • I'm basically paying £22 for brake hose and mineral oil... and then £45 for a lever I don't need.

Lol, I get the cost, but what did you actually break? Was it the lever body (resevoir, master cyclinder etc) or was it literally just the lever blade that you snapped? And for you're £45, do you get a Saint lever assembly (so just plug it in to the hydraulic hose), NOT just a single lever blade...?

    Sorry if I'm confusing...

Aye £45 was the lever assembly... plug in the hose, fit to bars, bleed, done.
