Communal showers at work.

I hated having to shower after PE at school because of the communial showers. I still refuse to use them even now. The good chap even with being the confident type also gets freeked out by the possiblity of using communial showers, but mostly because of the fact that when he was at school (public school at that) he was bullied for the fact that he has a birthmark in a sensitive area. Even now and even after years in the Navy the only way you would get him into a communial shower with anyone else is after a few drinks!Officers don't run, it's undignified and panics the men0

I wouldn't worry about it.
We have (had) a similar issue at work in that we get (got) massively subsidised membership of the gym in the same building, so at lunchtime it wasn't unusual to run into colleagues in the changing rooms, where nudity is kind of tricky to avoid. Not impossible, I grant you.
Sure, it was always uncomfortable at first, but we all got over it. Talk to the face. THE FACE.0 -
Mmm interesting I hadn't considered this, which I should because my company is in the process of building a gym in the basement.
MARVELLOUS!!!
lunges anyone?
:roll:Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -
Understand why you might feel uncomfortable but frankly why should you go to the rubbish shower just because someone else is in the communal shower. If HE doesn't want anyone in the shower with him then he could have gone and used the rubbish shower. If he chooses not to then he runs the risk of someone else wanting enough shower power to wash the soap off rather than just enough to make it wet. If He's that worried then presumably he'll go to the far left / right shower and you'll use the opposite one.Pain is only weakness leaving the body0

think of it this way,if he didnt want to share the shower why would he have got into it,if anyone gets into a shared shower you know someone will/might get in too,I think asking if minded you getting in will cause more of a "fuss" than just using it.you dont ask the other person in a shared shower if they mind you using it,that would be just strange.0

Now this is a different issue - I was visiting a health club as a guest, and some guy was using the hairdryer to dry between his toes - fair enough, keep the athletes foot at bay.
However, to do this he had put his foot up on the waist level shelf where the dryers are - whilst stark b0ll0ck naked...... (insert emoticon for "i didn't know where to look....")

This is a good point. I shall continue to go with shower quality over discomfort! Reassured that most people feel the same. No doubt as soon as winter arrives I'll be the only one still riding in anyway!0 -
