Can anyone please tell me if it's possible to fit hydraulic brakes to my Saracen Mantra 1 (08 model)

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

if the frame and fork have caliper mounts yes.

if the wheels have disc mounts then yes.

and it seems that they came with disc brakes any way.

    so no problem.

  • I don't know the specific model, but things to look for are:

Does it have cable discs or V-brakes at the moment?

If it already has cable discs your only concern is to have a look at your gear/brake levers - if they are seperate units, great, but if the brake and gear lever are part of the same assembly you'll need new gear levers.

If you have V-brakes, you'll need wheels with disc mounts & disc brake mounts on frame and fork.

  • Thanks

The only thing that concerns me is that the brake levers and gear change arms are both in the same housing.

    Could this be a problem?

Unless you want to fit mechanical disc brakes, then you can keep the existing gear/brake units.
