He's 26 and he's already won the Giro, the Vuelta and the Tour. This year will be his second Tour and his 4th Grand tour - at 26!! That matches Hinault, only Merckx has bettered that by the age of 26.

And if he'd been allowed to ride the tour last year?

He also does the business in the early part of the season having won Paris Nice in 2007.

He's never going to win Flanders, Roubaix or Milan San Remo so he's no Merckx. But he is the best climber around and he's not just a climber. As Spanish Time Trial Champion and the guy who finished 2nd to Cancellera in the prologue, he's pretty much at the top of the TT stakes as well.

In the next 5 or 6 years how many more GTs can he win. No wonder Astana sponsors want to build the team around him and have only loyal Spanish and Kazak riders next year.

Schleck is a talent as is Martin and there's always Wiggo !! But Contador is going to win a lot more Grand Tours over the next few years and not just in France.

    I agree with NapoleonD
Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman. It's got to be hot. You've got to take your time. You've got to stir... gently and firmly. You've got to grind your beans until they squeak.
And then you put in the milk.
