Looking to buy a new bike after a number of years out of the saddle,i am to spend up to £400 for now just in case i cant get back into cycling
I was looking at something like the Specialized Hardrock or GT Avalanche but have recently come across the Scott Aspect 45 for £399 which in the top 3 in what mountain bikes sub £500 bikes

As i am so out of touch with the technology i would appreciate advice from you experts out there on how the components compare and which is the best value etc..
Thanks in advance
Jim

The reviews dont lie, i have a hardrock as my hardtail/first bike and its decent for the 360 pound i payed. but if the aspect is in the top 3 and the others arnt then its there for a reason, buy it. when buying those sort of priced bikes the specs dont really differ. if you can, try the three bikes to see which one you like best because the one thing the review cant tell you is how you suit the bike.yeehaamcgee wrote:
That's like saying i want a door for my car that doesn't meet the roof, because I once had the wind blow it shut when I was getting in, and I had my head squished between, well, the door and the roof.0
