If so what type of riding are you using it for ? i was thinking of buying one for XC but unsure the geometry would suit, although i think they look awesome (mk 1) so might do anyway.

No it wouldn't, it's a jump frame so very short and steep. Plus they're as rigid as Michael Jackson's corpse. Totally unsuited to XC work, overpriced and ugly as hell.0 -
Not ugly! But using it for xc is pretty much impossible.0

their not ugly at all ! the newer mk2 is out now & the frame is totally different looks wise infact it looks more like the chameleon with different geometry.
Expensive yes but not over priced cant say i ve seen another frame like it !Show me your green bits i might buy them !0 -
Freshly redesigned after two seasons of input by Syndicate riders Jamie Goldman and Kirt Voreis, the all-new Jackal is built to do one thing - Jump.
There aren't any fancy suspension links to talk about, notions like ride comfort and bump compliance don't apply. It's all about short, stiff chain and seat stays, the right feel when transitioning from ground to air and back, a top tube that stays out of the way when throwing legs over it, and a frame that's strong enough to stick every landing and handle every time the landing goes wrong.0 -
For XC you want the Superlight, or the Heckler if you prefer a bit more travel for any babys head sized rock gardens or rooty descents etc
heckler is a true do it all bike, i've yet to ride anything which eats up the trail like this0 -
not really a fan of full suspension bikes i see it as un-nescesary wieght.Show me your green bits i might buy them !0

I've got a superlight and my partner rides a heckler, and they're both fab bikes. The heckler can tackle most xc stuff but the blur is also a good contender for uk type riding (as opposed to the Alps where the heckler is better)
The superlight really is a great bike!Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away....
Riding a gorgeous ano orange Turner Burner!

I had a Planet-x Jackflash for years which i used to ride XC on. Wasn't overly comfy for XC stuff but my Superlight i have now is a lot lighter than the Jackflash ever was and the Superlight is built with pretty heavy wheels.
I got bad back pains riding a jump frame as XC for so long so i wouldn't advise it from personal experience.0 -
if you want a xc bike i would go for a chameleon my bro has one pretty good bikes
the jackel is a jump bike so will be small and short . they not ugly.
if you can stretch the budget then the heckler is a true all rounder i use mine for local xc out on the moors to trail centres,.. to down hill i used it in whistler on the big terrain and it really does come into its own over there,..
