Excellent ride today! Did a nice 36mile loop as training for the IOM E2E in Sept. 6:30am start. Sun was shining and there was just a nice breeze.
Trails were deserted, dry in just the places you want them to be dry, yet muddy in the places you want them to be muddy. Bike was working really well today too after having new chain, chainrings and cassette fitted.
Total Ascent: 3689 ft
Total Descent: 3768 ft
Start Elevation: 405 ft
End Elevation: 401 ft
Min Elevation: 51 ft
Max Elevation: 1467 ft
Some pics from my Travels:
Laxey Wheel
Agneash Mines
More Agneash Mines
View Over TT course to Snaefell
Narrowdale Boards (not too clear on this pic, but they go all the way into the distance)
View from Ballacob down over Ballaugh and over the water to Scotland (Mahoosive Climb)
View down into Ravensdale
Sorry, no action shots, but I ride on my own and dont fancy taking my hands off the bars to get mid air pics of myself

(not obsessed with height, just missed some info off the end, sorry)
Total Distance 36.34
Ave. Speed 7.8 (that's only the time spent with the wheels moving, dosent include any time spent in a big sweaty heap on the side of the trail)
Total time was around around 5hrs 45min (including stops)
Not gonna be winning any races, but it's good enough for me.0 -

You seem to have descended 79 more feet then you ascended. Yet only lost 4 feet from start to finish.
I would check your computer.0 -

I was wondering about that myself.
That ascent/descent info is only taken from bikehike so I guess it's only as accurate as their maps and the elevation data they use.
Close enough for me but I suppose I should have stated that in my initial post.0 -
Nice pix mr no tail. Glad someone got out and about and put some effort in, I'm currently speaking to you from a submarine somewhere in the dark peak. OVER.0

We currently a 5k blue route and a 1k red route and that's it. But we're working on getting the govt to approve more trails to be built.
Unfortunately though, the Island has built it's reputation on old wrinklies tours and Motorsport, and the "old boys club" is reluctant to consider anything that dosent fit this. Shame though, because in my opinion, the Island is absolutely primed to be a MTBers paradise. We have the perfect terrain for it, and with the Island being so small, you are never too far away from anything.
Sounds like I'm single handedly on a mission to promote MTB tourism to the Island0 -
looks like a good ride, i'm sure i'd die doing it, but i'd get there in the end.... not to fond of climbs haha0
