Just out of interest has anyone signed up yet?
I seem to remember doing one about 10 years ago setting out from Team Valley in Gateshead and then heading up Consett way then looping round to Beamish etc and back to Team Valley. Seemed quite a trek as i would of only been around 14 then but the link to the ride posted above looks quite appealing.
Doing the C2C next weekend so training isnt a problem and going to ask a few of the lads who im doing it with and see if they fancy it.

I did it last year, may well be doing it again this year. I didnt enjoy it last year as i think i tried to go too fast and burned myself out (the total distance was about 55miles). I did the 62mile Northern Rock Cyclone last month and really enjoyed that. There are a few hills in the GNBR but it really flattens out after about 20 or so miles. There are no feed stations (unlike the Northern Rock Cyclone which had two over the 62miles). Infact i think i will be doing it after all
