Commencal Skin 2 - 2009

Hi all,
My lad had whittled his choice of HT XC down to Whyte 905 or Scott Scale 30, but he has now thrown the Commencal Skin 2 into the mix.
Anyone know the bike well? Looks quite similar to the Scale spec wise, another carbon lightweight, slightly more expensive but I have found it on sale somewhere, so not alot in it overall. I notice it's the same frame as the Skin 1, and the frame alone sells at close to £1K, so could have good upgrade potential as bits wear out.
If anyone knows the bike I'd appreciate some feedback.

There hasn't been much said about the Skin, however there was a review on here recently if that helps.0

Yeah, I read the review on here, it seems like a good bike, but I'm always reluctant to go by one review alone, and was hoping someone on here has ridden or owned one. It looks good for the money at Merlin, on sale at £1300+, reduced from £2K, but was it worth £2K in the first place, and is it a better frame than the Scale carbon? I did scour this forum for anything else, but it appears to be rarely bought.Ridley Orion0
