Tubeless ready tyres

Hi all
It's that age old question again - which tyres shall I buy!!
Have just bought a pair of Roval Traversee wheels for my 08 Trek Fuel EX8 (look the muts nuts) and am currently running the OE Bontrager Jones XR tubeless ready tyres (tubeless of course). The problem is when it's damp or wet i've little confidence when cornering on them.
What suggestions do you have for a light weight tubeless ready setup that will increase my confidence during the great British summer. Mainly ride Cannock Chase, Sherwood Pines and natural trails in the White Peaks.
I have saved the OE Bontrager Tubeless whelset for winter when I run Mud X tyres (tubeless of course) which I did last winter - buy some if you want grip in the gloop.
Cost is not such an issue - getting the best tyres is.

I've got the same wheels on my Giant but am just running Fire XC tubed atm was wondering how they would hold up without tubes and some solution in them and I'm also wondering what other tyres to run tubeless. I have got some Mountain King 2.4's on my other tubeless wheels and do rate them as they seem very fast rolling much faster than anything else I've had.Orange 5 AM

The Traversee is sold as a tubeless or tubeless ready wheelset, I wouldn't run a standard tyre on a tubeless wheel as the tyre doesn't have the extra long bead. It may just roll off.0

I'm thinking of running tubeless Nobby Niks on the Bonty Rhythm Elite rims that came with my Hifi......though I'm very confused in deciding on the right tyre

http://www.justridingalong.com have some interesting pages on mixing and matching tubeless/non-tubeless tyres on different rims.
Their prices seem a bit steep though.0 -
i 've converted a pair of snakeskin nobby nics no problem with the joe's kit. I also did the same with a pair of bontrager acX's which were great. Good volume, weight and traction.0

It's a total pain to get my standard nevegals on and off the rims, the bead grips like a sod I need more manly thumb-power. Not going to fall off in a hurry though. (I run tubed with my traversees, I shuffle tyres too much for tubeless to be a good idea but I've run small blocks and nevegals tubeless to test on these wheels, standard beads and they seem to work OK)Uncompromising extremist0 -
Roval Traversee's are fine with standard tyres. Atm on mine I'm running a standard Blue Groove on the front and a standard Maxxis Advantage on the rear. Not exactly lightweight but a good intermediate combo (I hate changing tyres on them ) and they take a fair bit of abuse (rocks etc.). For what you're after then UST Nobby Nic's might be a better combo. I also ended up buying a Stans kit for mine as I found the blue tape + valve they come with is easy to damage and doesn't seal well after a couple of tyre changes - if you do get Stans rim strip then the Rhyno Lite one seems to fit best (with a couple of layers of yellow tape under).0

I have Bonty ACX TLR 2.2's on my Rhythm Comps, They come up a little narrow, more like big 2.1's but are <600g, which is pretty impressive for a 2.2 tubeless, if you want true fat tyres, go for the 2.35 ACX's which are <700g i think. bonus is there <£25 each, should be able to get a pair for £45, so half the price of the
Had Nobby Nics but in standard and they were destroyed in 6mth riding, sidewall ripped through on the rear, and front isnt much better. Grip really well, but at £40 for the UST/Snake skins, not worth it, ACX are 80/90% as good for half the money, so am happy 8)0
