Riding with a young wippersnapper

Went to the local woods with Sam from here today after many occasions of missing him by days/hours/minutes when we up there at the same time.
Firstly I am 40, over weight (even after losing nearly 3 stone) but getting fitter by the day, Sam though is 19, 10 stone and has 3 bikes competing in DH etc where through the years I've only done XC..........my god the boys a loony, great handler of his bike, I felt like a complete prune hahahahah, I had conti speedkings on my Scott and last nite it stormed torrential rain resulting in sliding away twice, both times 4 metres from the top of a DH whilst Sam stormed off, then i got a tree (well a twig) in my back spokes another time, then my chain came off another time then at the end BANG a huge puncture all of this whilst Sam rode at lightning pace like a man possessed (he's very very fast and so smooth with his riding)...
Still very enjoyable and a very good bloke who needs to guide me a bitto enjoy the downhills as much as i enjoy climbing.

Still gave me a run for my money uphills, maybe SPD's would help, but i just couldnt live without my flats =]
Was a good day though, probably conti's weren't the order of the day though, still, have a butchers at that dvd, theres lots to be picked up from it =]
Ill bring aran out next time, a 20 something from your neck of the woods, he only does 2 'ups' and 2 'downs' and thats him shot, so your still on track =]0 -
