Ive recently MTFU'd and started commuting 41 mile round trip on a daily basis. 3 weeks in and now its raining quite a lot, Im thinking of replacing my 7 year old Race Face Aquanot jacket as its more of a sponge than a water proof.
I dont mind spending a few quid, I want something thats going to keep dry (ish) for the ride in, but saying that I do sweat like a pig and end up soaked anyway.
I like the look of the Gore cycle stuff, and think I want a hard shell rather than soft, I already have a soft (windstopper) and hard shell (Goretex, TNF walking jacket) but neither are cycling specfic.
Any reccomendations? Paclite? Is it up to much? My partners got a paclite walking jacket that leaked like a sieve when she did the 3 peaks.
Oh, anyone want to show me how make one of those clicky links with my route? I already have the route on bikehike, so just need the code to paste into the sig box.
Cheers :P

If you sweat a lot go for eVent rather than gore-tex, slightly less waterproof, but much more breathable.
I'd try as many as you can, fit is very personal as always. Can't suggest anything, i tend to use my rowing splash top, or get wet.0 -

I've got a similar length commute to you and I can't wear anything waterproof without overheating.
I go for a lightweight gilet with armwarmers, they keep the wind and rain away from your skin but don't get sweaty or heavy. They also dry nice and fast for the next day.Saracen Tenet 3 - 2015 - Dead - Replaced with a Hack Frame

Can you try this stuff on? Any shops in Bristol?0 -
London shops, never been myself. Their returns service is excellent however. The size guides on the website seem good, I've only had to swap something once.0
