Chain problem - advice needed

Hi All,
I have an annoying problem
The chain is rubbing on the inside part of the metal 'shifter' on the front mech (not sure what the techhie term is - its the bit that actually pushes/pulls the chain across between the three front chain rings). It's only a problem when in the lower 4 gears on the cassette, its fine in the mid/higher gears and it appears that the 'shifter' is maybe a few mm too far to the right as you sit on the bike. At present it is just making an irritating noise but eventually will not do the chain much good so want to fix it asap!
I'm sure that there is a simple adjustment that I could do but not sure what it is (the front mech and shifters are Shimano XT kit).
Any help much appreciated.

Sounds like it needs adjusting (the front mech or derailer).
Park Tools has a great guide on how to do it.0 -
