France, Bordeaux area ?

Anyone been and/or know of any decent of road xc type route in the area ? I'm heading there next week with the family (motor home ) and would like to sneak of for a few ride outs if i get the chance ! However my french is not good so don't really fancy asking around locally for fear of getting completely lost
