Can everyone please force me to pootle on Saturday :cry::cry:

I've just got back from the physio and I finally have a very slight reaction in my right leg :lol: given that she could have hit my knee with a 14lb club hammer previously with no hope of a reaction this is huge progress. Ok it took a lot of clubbing with her little wooden mallet to find it  but it was there and I really don't want to put back any progress I've made so far.

DDD, this is the reason you should get yourself to a physio, I really didn't realise the damage I'd done, and how long it would take to fix.

Sounds silly but how do I get in touch with a physio? What are there costs?

Mine is £38 a session, which seems about standard, and I just googled for one local to my office.

Physio is available on the NHS (for free) and is in my experience excellent. Obviously the experience will be different depending on the chap/chapess that deals with you there.

I spoke to my doctor first who referred me, but he told me I could refer myself if I wanted......

So...as an option....speak to your doctor and find out the nearest nhs physio to you.

  • i used to have physio on my legs great. he was the old physio for a football club I cannot name in good company.

i found acupuncture helped. it doesn't hurt as much as people think or say. just dont have it when you have the beginnings of a cold you will feel utterly shit towards the end of the day and i mean awful
The doctor said I needed to start drinking more whiskey. Also, I’m calling myself ‘the doctor’ now

I've used an NHS physio and he was excellent. I think you normally get about 6 half hour sessions and an option for more if needed - all for free. I had a slight knee problem that caused me difficulty on descents while walking and had had it lurking for years. The physio managed to sort it (with a degree of patience as the hardest thing was getting me to do the exercises properly).

Might depend on where you are as to how long it would take to get a series of sessions but it wasn't long in my case.

Go and see one of the physios at Balance Physio, they are just past the railway bridge on clapham high street.

They sort out all my rugby injuries and were recommended by my surgeon.

From memory £45 for a session

Just for you, I'll go really slowly all the way to Richmond Park.

    No, please, don't mention it.

NHS Physio...you''ll be lucky to get one.....certainly a no go here - months and months....

I've just finished 6 months of Physio - all paid by me (car ran into me last December whilst riding home) - £39 a pop, but it's fixed my shoulder up/let me continue riding....I've had about half paid back via the third party's insurance so far. As for NHS physio - nothing...... even my Physio has been waiting (deliberately) for NHS treatment - over 4 months so far - he's fixed himself, but was wondering how long it took on the NHS to get seen after an RTA....
