Mansfield Saddles

Anyone know anything about the company and saddles? All I know of the company is that it existed in Handsworth, Birmingham at some period of time, of the saddles I know there was the Club, Ace and Eclipse, I don't know what others. I've got a Club - see my flickr.

I was told today of the Mansfield Bath Road saddle.

IIRC the Bath Road was a development of an Ideale design from France. It has an alloy frame that was prone to cracking (as was nearly all alloy parts).

I think Mansfield were viewed as '2nd tier' to Brooks and were a little cheaper. But certainly better regarded than Wrights saddles.

Thanks, sounds like the B37 - a B17 with cracks

There seems to be less Mansfields around than other brands.

To anyone reading this do you have any info on Middlemore, Wrights, Leatheries, Lycett?

I nearly forgot, there's the Mansfield Sprinter.

I've put the Club in the classified section as it's too narrow for me unfortunately.

I've been told about Mansfield being around from the 1890s until 1967.
