Cycling in the Czech Republic

I've been offered a job interview in the Czech Republic, so just want to know what the place is like for two-wheelers. Has anyone ever cycled there?

I've lived in Slovakia before, and everyone there drives like a cretin, and as the countries are so similar culturally, I fear that CR could be the same.

Went to Prague a couple of weeks back, not with bike.

By local standards you got ripped off there.

    Did you try any slivovica?

No, I was keen to remain conscious for the weekend.

Prices in Prague, from what others tell me, have really gone up recently. In the more central parts of the city it was about £3/pint. Don't know about the rest of the CR.

I liked Prague though, and must admit looking at the gently rolling terrain in the distance and wondering what it would be like to cycle round the country.

Well if I do move over there I'll post a thread telling you what it's like cycling.

Believe me, you're missing out if you go anywhere in Central Europe and don't taste the spirits. And I'm sure slivovica will kill off swine flu.
