Hey I know you probs get this q all the time but i'm still undecided, please help lol.
Ive definately decided on Hardtail as i will use more for commuting than trails but will trail when i can.
My cycle scheme will allow up to £1k i think (unless there is no limit).
After looking around my LBS the Scott Scale 60 (09) caught my eye and is only £850, but i quite fancy the Trek 6700 (09) even tho its £999, but i cant get this from them, but can another LBS that i'm not familiar with.
My LBS have said that next month they will have 2010 Treks available but no details on spec available yet.
They also offered a Marin Eldridge Grade (09) for me for £1100
I also like Commencal Combi Deluxe (09) http://www.evanscycles.com/products/commencal/combi-deluxe-2009-mountain-bike-ec017312
but not sure if Evans.com do cyclescheme.
Can i please have peoples suggestions between the Trek and Scott, or alternatively some other suggestions of suppliers that Run Cyclescheme (online retailers, or there is a Cyclesurgery by me that does Spech and Oranges)
Hope you guys can help
Thanks loads in advance.
Phil

Be quick on the combi delux, they're going like wildfire mate!
They wouldn't let me have a combi deluxe as they're selling fast and they won't hold them for you as it's old hat now - 2010 models are coming out soon that's all!0 -
I got the trek 6700 09 on my cycle 2 work voucher and use it for x country, trail and some road stuff and it's good at most things, Two things you will need to change: 1, the saddle is terrible 2, the tyres are no good for the road, Apart from that it's pretty good and a very good looking bike.0

That new Giant Talon bike (on the bike radar front page right now) looks pretty decent, I'd be very interested in going for one of them!0

they do do cycle scheme . . AND I got them to price match on Merlin's price for that bike too! (£600)0 -
If its Cyclescheme.co.uk, Evans are NOT in this. I am in the same boat at the minute and am looking at some great deals at Merlin. Check out their Rock Lobster and Malt models. They also have stock Commencal.0

Tell me about it. I must be the only person on here that wants a bike from Halfords, but they are not in the the cyclescheme.co.uk, along with Evans. I quite fancy one of the boardman bikes.0 -
Just been hunting round the Wirral too mate and gunna get a Trek 6500 2010.
It all depends on what bike you want ie make/style.
Round here you've got
Birkenhead cycles
Cycle surgery
Spec concept store
Formby cycles
Quinns liverpool.
So from them you can get all of the top names but there's a serious lack of stock because of the swap on to 2010 bikes.
The thing is when you buy online you forgoe the free 1st service and the help you get from the lbs.
I'm a big fan of online shopping but buying a bike unless you know your stuff is best done in a shop.In the words of the GLC - Suicide is messy but it's money for free!!!0
