Would it make a decent rear tyre, I am relatively new and hoping to learn fast about bike setup etc. I am running a 2.35 60a high roller at the front, and want to run a quicker tyre at the rear. I was thinking or either a 2.0 Larsen TT or a crossmark however I have a couple of nearly new folding Raceking 2.2's sat in the garage, and never really considered them as a rear tyre. It's certainly save me some money to use what I have, but if they dont work well as a rear then theres no point. Anyone have any advice

If you've got race kings give it a go but in reality, it's all about the Kenda Small Block 8 ;)

I am however a subscriber to the crazy fast rear, crazy grippy front tyre school of thought!

for summer they'd be great but only if its mega dry. ive heard that they're good for traIl centres too. if u dont want would you sell them???
  • I've just tried these for the first time in a 10hr No Fuss event and they rock! Ususally I run a HR super tacky up front and HR 60a on the back, for the race I ran a Mountain KIng Supersonic 2.4 and a 2.2 supersonic Race King out back and they were brilliant, no punctures [I ran them at 25 and 27psi respectively], roll fast and grippy. They're more progressive than HRs which enabled me to drift into corners if I wanted but if not they just gripped. Quality tyre....if you've got them already just try them.

I run a Race King 2.2 rear and it's pretty good. it's got a big carcass so that gives it a bigger volume for cushioning and it rolls brilliantly fast.

However it doesn't grip well in anything other than dry solid ground; anything loose or wet and it's useless.

It's also fairly useless at cornering but as a rear it's not as important.
